This fall, I had an awesome opportunity to be in front of the lens for a change, posing with my pack for Christina Heyboer of Closer to the Heart Photography. I’ve admired Christina’s work for several years, and for some reason the time finally seemed right to schedule my own session. What started out as a family session quickly turned into just me and the dogs, as my son underwent ear surgery, my daughter got dental work that put a giant (but temporary) gap in her front teeth, and my husband was scheduled to work. Just as well, because secretly I had always wanted to have photos of just me and my dogs! As the photographer, I don’t ever get to be included in the family photos, and these moments that Christina captured are absolutely precious to me. (Please check out Christina’s work on her website or on her Facebook page—her work with kids and families is just stunning!)
